2025 Bucht II – documentary photography: photo series and photo story, photos by Andreas Muhs
Bucht II, Berlin-Friedrichshain und Rummelsburg, 2025, 39 photos, analogue
Already in the first series "Bucht" from 2017, wild-grown nature played an important role. Eight years later, only the 300-meter-long strip of nature remains of the wasteland; the rest has already been built on or soon will be. The area corresponds to the Paul-und-Paula-Ufer, which owes its name to the DEFA classic "Die Legende von Paul und Paula”. After a rainy summer and a year-long closure of the shore strip, the vegetation was able to grow uninhibited once again. The shore was reinforced with sheet pile walls and the area near the bank was again cleared of pollutants. A redesign of the riverside path and the planting is imminent. The images in the book appear in the order in which they were created during multiple walk-throughs on one morning, starting in the north.
