2024 Köpi 137 – documentary photography: photo series and photo story, photos by Andreas Muhs

The house at Köpenicker Straße 137 has been occupied since the Wende period, as was the now-evicted neighboring site. A wall of black-painted sheet metal, approximately 90 meters long, serves as a bulwark. Only upon closer inspection does the small-scale patchwork of various sheet metal parts become recognizable, into which every shrub and every tree has been carefully integrated. Painted onto it in large, white letters are protest slogans, which are gradually being covered by more and more graffiti. Simultaneously, the series “Arena” is being created as an epilogue to this series.
