2021 Panke – documentary photography: photo series and photo story, photos by Andreas Muhs

Panke, Berlin-Pankow, Gesundbrunnen, Mitte, 2021-2022, 50 photos, analogue

The Panke originates on the Barnim in Bernau, flows through Pankow and Gesundbrunnen to Mitte. There it divides into the North and South Panke and flows into the Spree and Nordhafen. It is an unusual river that flows through very diverse city districts. Sometimes it disappears underground, and sometimes the weather determines whether both river arms carry water. For this series, I documented the Panke within the urban area.
