The series "Am Vorabend" is an inventory of Berlin's vacant lots before they are built upon or otherwise used. I observed many of these places over a long period. I was amazed at how long they were able to resist investment pressure. The series is a farewell to Berlin after the fall of the Wall. Some of the images were shown in 2016 as part of the exhibition "Heidestraße" with the group B1 Stadtfotografen at the Galerie am Kleistpark. The series is part of the trilogy "Im Bau" and "In Neustadt".
