2007-2008 Neues Berlin – documentary photography: photo series and photo story, photos by Andreas Muhs

Neues Berlin, Berlin, 2007-2008, 117 photos, digital

The title "Neues Berlin" (New Berlin) is an allusion to the daily newspaper "Neues Deutschland" (New Germany) and, in contrast, shows a cheerful and colorful Berlin. Up until the financial crisis, the feeling of life was future-oriented. Berlin was reinventing itself, and the gray of the past seemed overcome. The series is a continuation of "Berlin 50 mm" and is stylistically very similar to it. I had already started the image database during the days of film photography. This was the only way to keep the abundance of images and the necessary labeling manageable. Since no software at the time met my requirements, I opted for an Access database. Through my own programming, I can adapt it to ever new demands.
